More Snow

Here are a few pics from the frozen north. We had another 5"-7" of snow fall over the weekend and the banks are now so tall that you can't see over them. Brandon took a few pictures out in front of the townhouse.

With all the snow we decided to take Jackson to one of the counties sledding hills and he had a blast! He even went down a few of the smaller hills by himself, which he thought was too cool. He didn't want to come home until we promised him that he could help daddy shovel. This is one of his new favorite things to do.

After shoveling they came in to warm up a bit and have some lunch then it was back out into the snow. The community center was having a winter festival and we promised Jackson that he could see a coupleof Santa's reindeer. Turns out they also were giving horse and carriage rides. We didn't go for a ride because it was a bit cold and closing in on nap time. But we did get to say hello to the horses.

Let it Snow!

I forgot how beautiful the snow was. We have big, beautiful snowflakes that just keep coming down and we are LOVING it! It definitely feels like Christmas and Jackson is having so much fun playing in it. We've been sledding, built a snowman, made snow angels, threw snowballs, shoveled the sidewalk and watched the snow plow and tractors go by. He loves being out in it and we are actually enjoying it too. I'm sure that feeling will go away but for now we're having fun.

Our first snow storm

We had our first winter storm yesterday and now have about 6" of snow! Jackson wasn't to crazy about it last night but it was pretty windy and the snow was also mixed with sleet and freezing rain. Ouch! This morning he wanted to go help daddy shovel and had a lot more fun doing that and watching the snow plows. He was so bundled up that he kinda waddled instead of walked in his snowsuit, it was too cute!

Nana and Papa Barnett came in for the weekend and we went out before the storm to cut down our Christmas tree. It was a lot of fun! We walked thru what felt like a hundred of trees before Brandon found the perfect one. Then he and papa cut it down and drug it back to the barn where we had hot apple cider while the tree was wrapped. They tied it to the roof and we took it home and spent the rest of the afternoon decorating it, watching football and watching the snow fall. It was a great day.

Thanksgiving in MI

We made our first trip home with Jackson. Everyone was finally able to meet him and he had so much fun playing with all of his cousins. From riding bikes with Cam & Austin, to playing cars & batman with Cole, playing teddy bears & the piano at great grandma's, sliding down the stairs with Hannah, Joe & Tyler, to playing football with the boys, waking up Auntie Heather and just playing with his Nana's & Papa's it was a fun filled weekend that he really enjoyed. I hope you all had as much fun as we did over Thanksgiving.

Trick-or-Treat

Last year Jackson didn't want anything to do with his costume. It took forever to get him into it and at the end of the night we couldn't get it off of him. So this year we practiced putting it on and trick-or-treating around the house so he would be ready for Halloween when it came.

Our county held trick-or-treating on Sunday from 4-7pm. It was nice because it was still light out and not too cold. Jackson did great! The first house I kinda had to drag him up to but after that he did it on his own. He would run up and shake his pumpkin instead of saying "trick-or-treat", but it worked. They gave him candy. He lasted for just about 2 hours, with mom and dad carrying him the last 1/2 hour or so. I think he had a lot of fun and he lasted a lot longer than we thought he would.

Our neighborhood held trick-or-treating last night on Halloween. It was cold, dark and windy and since we went out on Sun we decided to just hand out candy to the few kids who came by. Jackson got so excited every time there was a knock on the door and he did great handing out the candy. All in all it was a good Halloween.

Family Farm Fun

Today Jackson and I went to check out the Family Farm. It started off with the donkey biting Jackson's fingers as he tried to feed them but turned out great! We both had a lot of fun! They had all the animals; donkeys, cows, goats, llamas, chickens, peacocks, belguim draft horses (my fav) and they had 3 week old baby goats that were too cute. They had a playground, a maze, hayrides out to the pumpkin patch, and Jackson's fav the Hay Romp. We played for almost an hour here. By the time we left we were both covered in hay. Then we ate some lunch at the tiny little cafe and called it a day. This will be a yearly visit. Next year we'll have to drag along daddy though.

A Day at the Zoo

This morning we went to the Milwaukee zoo and had a great time! The weather was wonderful and leaves were beautiful. Jackson loved to see all the animals, ride the steam train and the carousel, but I think his favorite was when he got to feed the goats on the farm. He said they were chasing him and were silly. Then he would do his funny little laugh and run, it was too cute! He was pretty tuckered out when we left and fell asleep before we got home. We timed it right and were home just as Kentucky was kicking off. The rest of the day was spent watching football and then we went out for Brandon's birthday dinner. It was a good day!
